| SKAN have been supplying the art market for many years with the following brands: SKAN Clear™ Available in a large range of thicknesses and dimensions, SKAN Clear™ is the base glass that is used for the whole SKAN range of flat glasses. It provides excellent physical protection to any work of art whilst remaining a cost effective solution. It is a glass, manufactured using the float glass technique, that can be processed in all the traditional ways: it can be coated, laminated, toughened, screen-printed, patterned, etched or sandblasted with arrissed, ground, bevelled or polished edges to suit every need. SKAN Glaregard™ A one-sided acid etched anti-glare glass that has been specifically designed to suit the needs of picture framers and art galleries around the world. Using micro-etching technology, it enables light making contact with it to be scattered thus reducing the amount of light that is reflected directly back to the viewer and, as a consequence the amount of glare incurred. SKAN Visiongard™ As SKAN Glaregard but two-sided acid etched anti-glare glass that has been specifically designed to suit the needs of picture framers and art galleries in a bright light situation. By etching second surface, any internal reflections (inherent within the glass) are minimised, thus providing an almost glare-free view of the artwork. |
